Turning instead of grinding — removing a whole operation on universal-joint parts.

An auto-parts manufacturer was running universal-joint components on an India-brand machine whose surface finish was inconsistent — forcing a downstream grinding step. After switching to a HALLERBS HL-GXE560, the finish became excellent and consistent enough to turn in place of grinding, removing that downstream operation and saving time on every part. Can turning replace grinding on auto parts? On the right machine, yes. On universal-joint components, a HALLERBS HL-GXE560 replaced an India-brand machine with inconsistent surface finish. Can I remove grinding on my part? It depends on your surface and tolerance spec and your material. Some parts can move to turn-instead-of-grind; some still need a finishing grind. Send your drawing and surface spec and our engineers will tell you honestly whether it is feasible on your part.
